The Boy

John was a boy who could never do anythings right. He would always try to help in any situation but would only make it worse. He always walked around with a big smile on his face and a ruler in his hand. In the past years he started noticing how people would become angry at him for trying to help, so he began changing how he acted. The first step he took in doing this was picking up a few rocks and throwing them through a neighbors glass door. He started treating people in ways that his parents never thought he could. John's parents figured that all they needed to do was ground him and he would go back to his old ways. As the weeks went on his parents could tell that this was obviously not changing how he acted. They knew they needed to figure something out quick because everyday he was becoming more and more destructive.

One day John got excited to learn that he was going to have new neighbors moving in. The neighbors were two nice adults named Kelly and Darren who had no idea how bad John was. John and his parents went over to the new house to introduce themselves. John began looking around seeing what kind of things he could do to Kelly and Darren to make there lives horrible. He figured out the first two thing he was going to do once he learned that Kelly had a stamp collection and Darren collected coins. That night John secretly made his way over to the new families home to steal the stamps and all of the coins. Once he was able to make it back to his house he figured out that he stole Darren's wallet and not his coin collection. At this point he was very nervous since he knew he would get into a lot more trouble for taking a wallet then a coin collection.

The next day John heard Darren talking to Kelly about how his wallet was missing. She was also shocked because her stamp collection was gone. They had no idea why someone would go into there house and only take those two things and nothing else. The rest of the day John couldn't think about anything other than what he had done. His plan that night was to sneak back into Darren and Kelly's home and put everything back. He figured that it should be just as easy this time getting in and out of the house as it was last night. That night when everyone was sleeping John made his way back over to the house. Once John got in he went to the kitchen counter and put everything back, and that is when he saw a person coming down the stairs. The person was Darren and he was heading right for the kitchen. John freaked out and started running toward the living room to hide. On the way to the living room his arm knocked a little plate off the table and broke it. That is when the Darren saw someone running to the living room. Quickly Darren grabbed a bat and walked to the living room but saw nothing. He continued searching and found John hiding underneath a flower blanket. By this time John was in tears and knew he was in trouble.

The next morning rolled around and John's parents weren't to pleased with him. John was once again grounded, but this time he had nothing at all to do in his room except talk to a wood head on his dresser. John promised his parents that he would change his ways back to being a helpful boy. Overtime John proved that by walking around with a smile and a ruler in his hand. John also was able to find new hobbies that would help him from going back to stealing. He got himself into canoeing and even drumming. The whole neighborhood was so relieved in how he was now acting because they didn't need to sleep with one eye open to be safe. Neighbors didnt mind anymore when John tried to help out because they knew he was trying to do good. John was back to loving life and he didn't ever want to change that again.
