Reflection of Practice Interview

During my Interviews I talked to Mohammed and Zhe. When I talked to Mohammed I learned some different things. I learned that in Arabic you write from right to left. This is his second year and is planning on becoming an Electric Engineer. He does not like eating American food very much and prefers to eat food from Saudi Arabia. I think we communicated very well and the conversation was very relaxing. When we talked the conversation flowed smoothly and the interview felt like it went by fast. I felt good during the conversation and learned a lot.

When I talked to Zhe I learned how difficult his High School was. The length that he was at school was unbelievable. As of right now he is not sure about what he is going to major in. I learned about how he needs to find a job within 3 months after he graduates otherwise he has to go back to China. The communication between us was good, because we joked around during the interview when it was appropriate. I felt very relaxing and things flowed well together.

Doing these practice interviews are going to help very much for when I start my real interviews. Just talking to people today that I didn’t know showed that I will still be able to feel comfortable when the real thing happens. This interview process showed me how I am supposed to act at the beginning of the interview and what kind of small talk to make before jumping into the other questions.  Doing these interviews showed me that all it really is, is just a conversation back in forth, instead of one person asking questions and another person answering them.
